Earthgro by Scotts Brown Mulch uses Scotts Color Advantage to provide year-long color, guaranteed! Made from forest products, Earthgro Brown Wood Mulch helps conserve soil moisture, moderate soil temperature and prevent weeds naturally by blocking growth and access to sunlight when applied at a 3 in. depth for longest color, keep mulch dry for 24-hours after application. To optimize the brown mulch color, it is recommended to turn or rake the top 1 in. of mulch every 3-months to 4-months.

Disappointing Quality vs. Prior Years
I've been using this mulch for years. I liked this product because the color lasts, it was a finer grind and it's easier to stage vs. bulk delivery. But, Scotts/HD decided to cut costs this year and product inferior mulch compared to prior years. I purchased 100+ bags for the project and very disappointed. The mulch grind is poor and consists of large pieces. Pics from this year vs leftover bags from prior year. The change in quality is obvious.

The mulch was a beautiful brown color. Large bags at a great price. Plenty of help to load.

This worked out perfectly. Out of 36 bags, 2 had poor coloring and could not be used, but that is to be expected. It covers well , the brown is a rich saturated brown. Could not be happier with the end results. I cannot speak for longevity as it has only been down about 5 days, but so far so good.

I have used the product before and decided to order it again, definately meets expectations. I specifically ordered from Home Depot because of the delivery option. The positive is that the correct product was delivered within the window promised. However, there was a space for specific instructions. I asked that it please not placed in my driveway. Instead, it was dropped in my driveway and I could not use my garage for a few days. Also, it was left on a palette which I had to pay to have removed. My overall feedback it that the product is good but the customer service should have been better.

Scott's Mulch a plus for your yard.
I really love this Scott's Mulch, I got the red and I am replacing all the old mulch in my beds with this. I really like how it looks and how it spreads, very nice product. I got 50 bags and I think it was priced very well.

Mulch quality inconsistent
Purchased 70 bags of the Scotts brown mulch…half of the bags had good quality mulch, fine grind, nice consistent texture…the other 35 bags had coarse grind, limbs, sticks, wood chunks, etc…and darker color…looked terrible next to finer grind.
